CREDO of the SOUL

CREDO of the SOUL

I believe in the wisdom of my mind,
I believe in the insight of my eyes,
I believe in the investigation of my nostrils
I believe in the words of encouragements that spit out of my tongue
I believe in the patient listening of my ears
I believe in sticking out my neck in all my calling
I believe in the passion of my heart
I believe in the strength of my shoulders to labour the ideas I execute
I believe in the healing service of my hands.
I believe in the gentle authority of my elbows.
I believe in the ability of my hips to carry the weight thrust upon me.
I believe in stomaching the hardship to achieve what I may
I believe in the rhythm of my knees, even when I am floored I am so high
I believe in the vitality of my kidneys.
I believe in the filtering virtue of kindness in my liver.
I believe in the fragile imagination of my ankles.
I believe in the walk of life imprinted on my sole (soul).

This I pledge today & always, for the rest of my days in unison with
my mind, body and through the path
that I walk with the assistance of my sole (soul).

And as I leave behind this body
my sole (soul) still walks to the
Credo of my Soul.

This I live for…….
THEN , NOW, FOREVER.

  1. "Credo of the Soul" is a moving celebration of the body as a vessel of awareness, a tree (shape of poem) fully partaking of life, the temporary home of an eternal tide that flows in and out of the self. "Credo of the Soul" is rich with philosophical and theological themes with which to identify.

  2. "Most of all I believe in the passion of my heart."
Putting heart at last (before pledge) gives a good over all summary of the credo.
